Brick Dedications

Gazebo construction lined up for near future

Things are looking up for the new gazebo. Although fundraising is well under-way, we are still needing people to purchase bricks in order to break soil in spring of 2004.

How exactly will the bricks be used? The 500 bricks will form a walkway surrounding the gazebo.  'Click-the-Brick'  to see inscriptions for bricks already sold.

The bricks can be engraved anyway you would like.  Lettering on bricks may consist of: two lines of thirteen characters each.  Bricks cost $40.00 each.

In the future the gazebo will possibly be used for such events as: ice cream socials, wedding receptions/ceremonies, birthday parties, evenings in the park, and  in many other diverse ways.

When Deborah Kennamore, Director, was asked why the Museum and Society chose the gazebo, she stated, “Because, I’ve been to other places and seen how gazebos have become the focal point for a variety of community activities.  Our gazebo will be modeled after one in Ft. Leavenworth.”

Deborah later added that the gazebo will help to create a “gathering” place for the community.
